n00oodies emerged during a period of profound isolation, coupled with a pursuit of social connection in the digital age. As the practice of sharing ‘nudes’ has only recently gained prominence in contemporary society, it conveys a sense of navigating uncharted territory.
Exploring lived experiences of an internalised tension regarding digitalised sexual communication, stemming from the contrasting technological environments we have encountered throughout our lives. Many of us were raised with minimal or limited access to technology, whereas contemporary society increasingly integrates digital tools into everyday routines.
This duality of experience creates a sense of detachment and a distortion of reality, as our understanding of sexual intimacy, rooted in physical experience, has been transformed onto digital platforms. This transition not only reconfigures the way intimacy is mediated but also introduces inherent distortions within the digital form itself.
n00oodies makes something that feels alien, become alien.
