n00oodies was an interactive collaboration between artists and participants, exploring nude culture and the synthetic unreality of online sexual communication, through the alienation of the human form. n00oodies investigates the practice of sending ‘nudes’, having only gained prominence in contemporary society, the act conveys a sense of navigating uncharted territory.
n00oodies examines the lived experiences of an internalised tension regarding digitalised sexual communication, stemming from the contrasting technological environments encountered during developmental years, to prior traditional and practical methodologies.
This duality of physical and digital sexual experiences creates a sense of detachment and a distortion of reality, as our understanding of sexual intimacy, rooted in physical tangibility, has been transformed onto digital platforms. This transition not only reconfigures the way intimacy is performed and mediated but also introduces inherent manipulations within the digital form itself.
n00oodies makes something that feels alien, become alien.
